I am always surprised by these happenings. Do Arabs generally care about human life or only about human life taken by an Israeli or American?
There were quite a few civilians killed in the Hamas attack. Not a peep from anybody. Also, nobody talks about “proportionality”. Hundreds die in bombings in Iraq. Nobody in the Arab world seems bothered.
I am not trying to justify anything Israel does. Two wrongs do not make a right. I am just explaining why most Israelis don’t take Arab “liberals” seriously. Charity begins at home. Before you “fix” Israel, fix your own home and lead by example.

Well, now that Hamas has shown itself to be a huge force against terrorism, I think it’s time to negotiate with them. I nominate Shai as Israel’s first ambassador.

1. Glass houses? When was the last time Jews killed hundreds or tens of Jews?
2. I am not a “liberal”. I don’t live in an Utopian world of make belief like you.
My government treats me rather well. It treats its enemies harshly which is understandable. I may have serious disagreements with my fellow citizens, but we don’t kill each other. We let the ballot box speak.
There are many self proclaimed Palestinian “liberals”, “humanists” or whatever you want to call them. Have you seen any of them protest against the recent Hamas escapades? Ask questions about it? Debate the amount of force used relative to the threat? Nothing. Nada. The silence of the dead. The sounds of pre-creation.
How about Arab “liberals” in general? Compare that to the noise Gideon Levy and Ha’aretz make when they smell a hint of any infraction by the IDF. I am not a person living in a glass house throwing stones. But you are a person living in deep denial.
