Divisions of Diplomacy: Muhanna on Al-Jazeera

I taped a segment this weekend on Al-Jazeera’s Inside Syria program, along with Dr. Saleh Mubarak of the Syrian National Council and Anna Therese Day, author of the Daily Beast exclusive “Dining with Al Qaeda” . You can watch the show below, or read a synopsis here.

  1. I think was should have negotiated with Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.

But I have no dog in this fight. Just my 2 cents.

  2. For those interested in reading the fine print… here’s a piece by Sharmine Narwani and Radwan Mortada about the UN report.

Will be curious to hear @Brown_Moses @cjchivers and others respond to this minority report on the #Syria CW attack: http://english.al-akhbar.com/blogs/sandbox/questions-plague

Why? Neither one of them knows bupkes about the clinical sampling & processing of environmental/human specimens. Those results and the attendant curiosities therein, not the arguing over azimuths and free ranging rocket fragments, are what is germane here. For starters.

Oh and let’s not forget that the Israelis saw “rebel” responsibility for the Sarin attacks that killed a dozen or so regime soldiers on March 19. You know, the toxic die-off the UN prefers to ignore despite months of entreaties for an investigation of the incident. I wonder though, could the massacre in Damascus have diverted the investigators’ attentions from their original destinations? What was their original itinerary?

Your old protagonist Sharmine and her co-author did a good job of pointing out the discrepancies somehow “missed” by MSM journos and the holy truthiness seekers of HRW and AI. I guess none of them have watched CSI and/or the hundreds and hundreds of American tv shows in the ubiquitous Crime Drama category. Such an uncurious lot they are these sad days.

Are you just gonna stand there and not respond?
