Greetings to all from Beirut, where I’ve been meeting with MPs, civil society folks, and good friends about the Lebanese senate project I’m working on. Will have more to say on this score when I’m back in Cambridge, but for now, I thought I’d direct you to a new International Herald Tribune / NY Times Global opinion blog called Latitude, which has just launched. I have a piece there today on the STL and its discontents.
Nice post.
You truly relayed the emotions we all felt when they establish the STL when you said “Suddenly, ordinary citizens had the right to know the names of their assassins and terrorizers, rather than speculating emptily about obscure conspiracies”
“the crime simply exemplify the country’s fatal flaws” nailed it again.
Thank you, future President and Savior. Really, you better start that religion soon while I can still walk so I get to join and enjoy a bit of serenity before my earthly days are over 😉
Good stuff as usual. Except the part about “Orthodox Armenian New Year”…I guess you meant “Orthodox Armenian Christmas”. 😀
Great news Elias, keep up the good stuff coming..
